South Beach Diet - UDATE

I've been inspired by a few girls to start the South Beach Diet, and with a cruise and another wedding coming up, I decided to get started today. They say that the first two weeks are hard, but I think I can do it. Luckily Brent likes meat, so that won't be the problem. The problem will be getting him off ice cream!

UPDATE: A good work friend just sent me a link to a South Beach website with recipes.
Check it out here.

Wedding Pictures from Matt Terry

In case you haven't checked him out on my favorites, Matt Terry is an awesome photographer in southeast Arkansas. He is almost like family after doing both Norris weddings this past year. Needless to say, he is very artistic and knows what he's doing. I can't wait to get the finished product!

Fun times in Cabot

We have also adopted a Nintendo Wii and Guitar Hero (thanks to my brother-in-law Josh for getting Brent hooked). It's a lot of fun, and we had a game night last weekend. We also celebrated Steve's entrance into the University of Tennessee Dental School! He has worked so hard to get it, and we're so proud of him. We're also glad that he and Rob will only be a few hours away, and close to my sister as well!

On another note, we just found out yesterday that my family will be going on a cruise in March! It was our Christmas present from my parents, and we're excited to be traveling together as married couples. We'll be leaving out of New Orleans, and heading to Cozumel and Progresso, Mexico. Brent and I have never been on a trip out of the Greater 48 before, so I am really looking forward to sharing this experience with him.

We're also planning a trip to Arizona to see Brent's mom, sister, and new niece. I am excited to see a part of the country that I have never been before, plus play with my only niece! (who I think favors Brent just a little)

Looking back

This past Friday night, I spent the night with Ma (my dad's mother). We had a good visit, and I also got to scan some pictures that I've been wanting to capture digitally. One of my favorite things to do when I go to Wells Bayou is to look through those photo alumbs and take a trip down memory lane. Our family has a wonderful heritage, and we have stories that go back to my great-great grandparents. In the past year, we have started a family website that you can house pictures and stories in one location. It's been so much fun reconnecting with everyone through that.
The time at my grandparents house was bittersweet though. Pa (dad's dad) has been recently placed in the nursing home at Star City. He's in the last stages of Alzheimer's Disease, and while it is overwhelming to go through this, I am amazed and inspired by the courage of my grandmother. She is praying for God's will, which isn't an easy thing to do. I know God is looking over both of them, and He is in control.

This was the day they brought my sister home from the hopsital. That's Memaw (my great-grandmother), me, Sarah, and Ma. (Still wearing the "Big Sister" t-shirt.

Honduras

This week, my parents are in Honduras with our mission team and I am very sad not to be with them. After all the excitement last month of the wedding, I couldn't be gone another whole week from work, so I had to sit out this year. The last time I missed was in 2004, but Lord willing, I will go next year. If you've never gone on a mission trip, then its hard to understand the bond that develops between the team members, but let's just say that they are some of my favorite people in the world. It's like an extended family.

So this week, I am asking everyone to pray for my extended family as they are in El Zapitillo, Danli, Honduras. Satan always tries to mess things up for them, so pray that he will not be effective and that God will prevail. Pray that the people will be receptive to the Gospel, and that the team will stay healthy and have traveling mercies. They'll be back late Saturday night, and I can't wait to hear how it all went!

Our new pet

We have adopted a new 47" flat screen TV, and as Brent says "Daddy's Happy." We bought it during our Christmas break, and now Brent has gotten the cords that will allow you to hook up your computer up to it. It really is pretty cool, and I can't wait to show my Dad. He'll be impressed!

Here's our bedroom that we have updated with new bedspread, curtains, and of course the other new TV.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!! Last night, we had everybody over for food, drinks, dominoes, and sparklers. It was a lot of fun, and I was so glad that Monkey was there to celebrate with us. 2007 was a great year, but I am looking forward to what's ahead this year. I hope everyone had a great holiday!
