Jackson and Brandt Go to the Movies

We took off on July 3rd, and took Jackson to see Despicable Me 2 at the Cabot movie theater.  They have dollar days on Wednesday and Thursday for families and they show older cartoon.  The place was packed with local daycares, but we managed to run into our friends the Harrison's.  Jackson and Brandt are sunday school buddies and they are a month a part (B is older).

They did pretty good and we managed to watch the whole show with only one bathroom break.  I see many more activities and movies with these two in the future.

Of course Jackson was only truly interested in the popcorn.

Cherished Ladies at First: Pinterest Party!

The first weekend in July, our women's ministry hosted a Pinterest Party.  It's funny how I stressed about all of the details, and then it all came together perfectly.  (Not by my design though - the Father had his hand in it too).  We had 32 ladies there to make a burlap wreath and taste test some yummy recipes.

So glad my friends came and help support this ministry!

We are more than half way through with this year, and it's been challenging at times, but God is working at FBC Cabot.  I know we're laying a foundation for some awesome things in the future.

Whoopie! Jackson is Three!

My little baby is now a big three year old.  Man time does fly and we're discovering that this is an exciting time with our brown-eyed boy.  He loves Veggie Tales, so that's the theme that I chose for his party.  I didn't really go all out this year because we're on a pretty strict budget, but it all turned out cute and the kids had fun.

Gamma came to see us for a few days, but mainly to see J man.  They were both thrilled to see each other.

On his birthday, we picked him up early from school and took him to the movies (Tandy 10 - hello).  He enjoyed it, but Rio 2 was probably for more older kids.  We made it about an hour, then left and went to "chick-a-lay" to have dinner and play.

This sums up my life - crazy boys.

But they love me.

First movie theater experience!

It's really all about the popcorn and he would eat the whole big bucket if we'd let him.

After chick-a-lay, we went home and had ice cream on the patio.  The weather was really nice, so we stayed outside for a little while.

After bath, J opened a few presents and of course he was so excited.

Getting ready to learn to play baseball!

The next morning, we loaded up the car and took half of the house to the chapel at the church.  It was birthday party day!  My little superhero had a blast playing with his friends and jumping around.

"Show me your muscles"

Cakes by Sam made the cake - it was half vanilla, half strawberry and all yummy.  Oh and in case you couldn't figure it out, we had a Veggie Tales party.

So glad Aunt Snooks and Ma got to come!  Oh and Mimi and Pops too.

Eating with his buddies Eli and Avery.  Love seeing all of them grow up together.

Make a wish!

Eli loves a good cake.

Oh Pops!

We were so glad that Lila and Mrs. Terri got to come.  Lila was super excited there was a stage and had to put on a show for us.  She even told Jackson where to sit.

After everybody left, we hung around and let him open his presents.

That day was also Mimi and Sar-Sar's birthday, so she got to open her present too.  Sar-Sar couldn't come to the party because Lucy was still little.

After the party, we got home and had more visitors for the birthday boy.  Grandpa Gary and Dottie came from West Memphis to see the big three year old.

Unfortunately, J was so tired that I had to take him to the back and make him lay down.  He was asleep in 2.5 seconds.

After nap, he woke up to more presents!  These were from mommy and daddy and Aunt Debbie.

We got him a Cars scooter and helmut.  He likes it, but it's taken a while for him to get used to it.

It was a great birthday party and a great birthday overall.  I still can't believe he went from this....
